The NC Supreme Court has adopted rules governing mediation of proceedings which are conducted by the Clerk of Court--disputes concerning estates, competency hearings, and the like.
Court ordered mediation is being expanded to include proceedings before the court. Contests involving estates and hearings to determine competency are often events in the lives of families in which everyone wants to find a mutually agreeable resolution, and now mediaiton will be available for them. A 10-hour course is required for those seeking certification in this new area. Mediation, Inc. is offering this course to YOU on DVD to watch at YOUR convenience! This DVD course is APPROVED by the Dispute Resolution Commission to satisfy the training requirement.
Speakers, such as Andy Little, Ken Babb, Dr. Michele Haber, and Dr. Kate Mewhinney present an informative course to you that will help you conduct mediations before the Clerk of Court. In addition, a panel discussion is offered at the end of the disc series which includes valuable information given by all of the speakers as well as experienced mediators and clerks, which include Frank Laney, James Stanford, Michael Haswell, and Mary Ann Dalton.
This course is approved by the Dispute Resolution Commission to satisfy the necessary training requirement for certification in the Clerks Program. Please note that you MUST be a DRC-Certified Mediator in order to become certified in this program
